Conservation of the Cultural Heritage

Under the new organization of the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture (D.P.R. 8 June 2004, No. 173) the Direzione Regionale has been delegated various duties to preserve the Landscape and Cultural Heritage: it allocates grants for the costs sustained by private owners of cultural assets, authorizes the alienation of public owned assets and receives the notification of alienation of privately owned assets, following the pre-emption procedure. Finally, on the authority of the Direzione Nazionale (National Head Office), it declares the particularly important interest of privately owned cultural assets (the so- called “restrictions”) and verifies the interest of state owned real estate heritage, according to the new procedures via web.
